Description

The collection contains the transcripts of the trials of March 1998 and November 1999. It also includes newspaper clippings about the trial and video clips from local television news programs.

Hist/Bio Note

Jimmy Creech, an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska, officiated at the marriage of two gay men in March of 1998. Tried and acquitted for disobedience, he again officated at a gay marriage in November of 1999. At this trial, he was tried by the United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska and his orders of ordination revoked. He continues to preach human rights at college campuses across the country.
