The More Light Presbyterians (for LGBT Concerns) (MLP) collection consists of records of the MLP Board of Directors, local chapters, membership records, photographs, and personal papers of individual leaders and files concerning the Presbyterian Church USA General Assembly. The collection is organized chronologically within the following series: Background (general background material, brochures, announcements, newsletters, etc.), 44 small boxes; Board of Directors (minutes and other board documents), 1 small box; Bylaws, 1 small box; Chapters, 6 small boxes; Correspondence (restricted), 3 large boxes, 49 small boxes; Finances, 7 small boxes; General Assembly, 10 small boxes; Individuals (including personal papers of our leaders), 8 large boxes; Inmate correspondence (restricted), 7 small boxes; Membership records (restricted), 1 small box; and Photographs, 1 small box. "Restricted" files will not be open to the public for 75 years without written permission from the MLP Board of Directors. Please contact the MLP archivist James D. Anderson was communications secretary and newsletter editor/publisher for PLGC/MLP from 1980 to 2003, and he continues to serve as archivist. This collection includes his personal daily diary spanning the years 1959 to the present, with some gaps in the earlier years, documenting his life as a gay man, and his partner since 1971, his career at Rutgers University and earlier universities, and his active participation in the queer liberation movement within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
