Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Memorial Fund

In honor and memory of Dr. Virginia Ramey Mollenkott’s four decades of groundbreaking and visionary scholarship, as well as courageous witness on behalf of LGBTQ+ persons of faith, Virginia’s friends are collaborating with the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network (LGBTQ-RAN) to establish a memorial fund. This fund will endow the newly-named Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Award, an annual award for papers honoring outstanding scholarship in the field of LGBTQ+ religious history.  The Mollenkott Award is the preeminent honor for young queer scholars in religion.

The goal for the Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Memorial Fund is at least $50,000. The returns on this endowment will cover the costs of the Award and an annual event that will honor the awardee as well as celebrate Dr. Mollenkott. As additional funds become available, internships and/or scholarships in Dr. Mollenkott’s name may be instituted.
